WIAW #29 First One in '14 Edition

Hello Everyone!  It's Wednesday and I decided to jump into What I Ate Wednesday again.  I really miss doing these posts, so I'm hoping to keep doing these every week.  So without further ado....


"

Breakfast:
I ate most the oatmeal before I snapped this photo, but I had Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal by Better Oats (I love Better Oats!) and half an cinnamon raisin english muffin with butter on it.  Not picture is a glass of juice which I drank with my vitamins.



Lunch:
A ham, cheese and mustard sandwich on a sandwich thin, a dill pickle spear, a small apple and a mug of green tea with honey.



Snack:
Triscuits!  I LOVE the new flavors they came out with.  Plus Triscuits don't have a ton of ingredients and I can pronounce most, if not all of them, so this makes it a snack I'm happy to eat! Not pictured was a snack I had later in the day of a Fiber One chocolate peanut butter granola bar and a Skinny Cow cookies and cream ice cream sandwich.



Dinner:
More Triscuits, another small apple and chili mac with a light sprinkling of cornbread crumbs.  The chili I used is a Slow Cooker Vegan Beer Chili from Cassie at Back to her Roots.  I love the savory taste of the chili, mixed with the sweetness of the cornbread!

WIAW #28 - It's been too long

Hello fellow What I Ate Wednesday party-ers! And hello to those who are not WIAW party-ers!  According to my records, the last time I partied was back in October!  It's been way too long!  I'm really trying to focus on my food this month and I'm tracking calories.  That being said I am happy to say that I am actually proud of my eats today (even though they don't live up to the green theme)! Check it out and see what you think:





Breakfast:

I have had a seriously craving for bagels lately. This may or may not be Jenn's fault ;) Anyway Mike and I went shopping while I was starving, which is always a bad idea.  I bought two packages of Bagel Thins. Everything and Cinnamon Raisin.  I have been having them like every morning with cream cheese and today was no exception.  It's like the best breakfast ever!

I continued my breakfast after my workout, with one link of Erkrich Farms Cheddar sausage and a raspberry Nutrigrain bar.

Lunch:

I finally made myself a smoothie! I've been wanting to incorporate smoothies into my diet as another way to get fruits and veggies in me.  Usually I would say especially veggies, as they are the hardest for me to meet the daily requirement.  However lately my diet has been void of fruits.  This smoothie helped that by having 1/2 a frozen banana, some frozen mixed berries, plus plain no fat Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder and a little vanilla almond milk. Oh and the smoothie has a reusable green lid and straw! How's that for green?!

I forgot to take a photo of my actual food because I was too busy stuffing my face, but here's a stock photo. Morning Star Farm's Griller on a white bun (lame.  I don't know why I bought white instead of wheat), with sweet pickle relish and mustard and a side of canned pears in 100% juice!

So what I did pretty good right?! I am happy with it.  Don't forget to go visit Jenn's party, meet some new friends and get some yummy food ideas!!

WIAW #27 - Series Time!

Tonight was the first game of the World Series and unfortunately the Tigers lost, but that's okay because we don't even need that game to win!! Tomorrow is another game and this time the Giants are going down!

Well today, we are going to do What I Ate Tuesday.  I'm going out of town this weekend and I have been a busy social butterfly every day after work, so between getting ready for the va-ca and socializing there's not much time for other things and it was easier to do Tuesday this week...and believe it or not, even though today was easier - I only have two pictures! Blah....

WIAW #23 - Determination & Happy 1 yr!

So I just realized that July 7th was this blog's 1 year anniversary! Happy anniversary to me for blogging for one whole year!! Which also means I'm one year closer to my goal of living to be 100! Woot Woot! If you'd like to see where I was at one year ago, here are my first and second posts on this blog! Enjoy :)

Now it is also Wednesday and it is my determination week, as in I'm determined to get my health back on track! So today is my determination week WIAW.  I think I made some pretty good decisions.  Let's see what they are!

This week has been crazy for me.  I think my Facebook on Monday summed it up best:

"This week: 8 chapters of reading for class, a paper due on Thursday, possibly a quiz, friend from out of town visiting, baby shower for said friend on Thursday, poster presentation at U of M on Friday, spending the weekend in Ohio. And prep for all these things this week. breath, Katie, breath. I think I'm going to need some coffee...."

Well it's exam week and I have been working until 4am some nights working at 11am some days.  Basically my schedule is worse than usual.  Today started out like this:
