ACTIVity

There was a time in my life where I would look for anyway to add activity to my life.  Exercising is great, but setting aside time each day to do it is not always possible.  And even if it is, extra movement in our society is always a good thing. I have been thinking about this recently and today helped even more.

Ken, the amazing slack liner!

The above picture is of Mike's cousin Ken slack lining (pretty amazing, huh?!). He learned how to slack line and brought it to the family Easter dinner.  While Ken was walking on the line, he was telling me that in his free time he's really active: bike riding, running, rock-climbing, slack lining. It made me really wish that I had that old mindset where I look for more ways to be active.

Ken asked me if I wanted to try the slack line. Although it looked a little scary, it also looked too cool to pass up. It was really tough and most of the time I had to hold on someone's shoulders or hand, but I balanced long enough to take a picture:
Mike's cousins, Matt and Ken as my rocks, in case I lost my balance :)
Doing this, if you aren't holding onto someone, is a great core workout. I really felt it in my legs and back. Ken said it works a lot of little muscles. I hope this is my first step into getting back my more active life.
